Introduction

This site is a private mausoleum and burial ground within the policies of Forglen House. It is not a place of worship in itself and so was not visited or photographed. It was built in a Gothic Revival style and is situated in a thick woodland plantation in the estate grounds. It is wind and water tight and features finials, crocketed pinnacles and gargoyles. It has an impressive wooden interior roof. There are a number of marble plaques commemorating the Abercrombie family. It appears the people are buried outside in a graveyard, with memorial stones of the same names. The mausoleum was built in 1865, and has stained glass windows and the family crest in stained glass.
