Introduction
The site of Dundee's earliest known church is now covered by the buildings utilised by the City Council and the Caird Hall, i ncluding an underground car park. K. Nichols 10/08.
Description
The earliest known church for Dundee was centrally situated and sited to the west of the Castle. Its precise date of construction is not known but it is referred to in documents of 1232/7 and again in 1244-73. The lands were subsequently encroached by housing and it was at some point converted to a weigh-house. It was considered to be out of use by 1536. K. Nichols
