Description
Wick Baptist Church
Construction materials: Stone - Used for walls; Slate - Used for roof;
This church was built in 1865 for the Baptist congregation, formed in Wick in 1808. Prior to the creation of this building the congregation met in a number of premises around town. First they met in a loft in Kirk's Lane off High Street, then services were held in a new church in High Street, later used as a mission hall. They moved from here into this church in Union Street. The church is still in full ecclesiastical use by the Baptists and was in good condition when last visited. Researched by R. Gunn, compiled by J. Dowling 23/9/2004.
